muse: ideabrief

This was prompted on a comment on O-Mav at M3 tonight, to the effect that Metal Shark was being included in Rogue Dragoon's punishment (e.g., the 'running reploid' competition in Tartarus--essential two weeks of everyone hunting Rogue Dragoon for a bounty) to serve as Rogue's 'private doctor' so that Rogue would actually survive the punishment.

The reaction this had on me was instant, and dramatic. Story outlines are already spooling through my head. In fact...oh, good heavens. This will make a very BEAUTIFUL Seraphim story.

I think I'll call it 'Run'. And it will be Abby-Seraph's trial-by-fire after being picked up by Seraph internal security.

I love it when ideas click. This may be my story for Writers of the Future.

The concept of him being thrown into what's essentially a locked ghost-city with only one other initiate Seraph to rely for his medical help (s/he would not be subject to the same rules--no attacking him/her unless s/he got involved in a fight), and having to fight the entire Seraphim organization for several days to prove that he's got the skills, and the loyalty (since he could betray his partner at any time for a reprieve--it'll be an offer someone makes in the first couple of days)...agggh. Shivers! Shivers! I need to write this up!

I can probably break it down by day, too. Mmmmmmm.

More ideas as I get 'em. I'm going to make this happen.

Scenes already in mind include tension (on both ends!) between Abby and his partner, fighting, potential hallucinations, one of the other Seraphim offering a reprieve for betraying his partner (loyalty tests!), and probably him explaining himself, and how he came to be where he is.
