Inspired by an off-color quote on bash.org about breast implants with goldfish in them. No, really.

begin

She was the strangest woman he had ever seen in his young life.

He thought nothing of her initially--she was tallish, made handsome like everyone was by gengineering. Her hair was the color of the summer sky and fell to her waist in a riot of braids; her eyes were the copper of Martian dust. She moved with a sinuous sway to her hips, swishing along the sidewalk and hypnotizing any poor male who happened to pass behind her.

It was her breasts he noticed first. He was looking, of course; he was in the prime of his life and she was an attractive woman, so of course he looked. She was wearing one of those cute baby-doll tees with the cut-out that were all the rage--they gave a lacivious peek of her cleavage but not a hint of a nipple to be scene. Within kissing distance of sin. Something seemed a little off about the whole thing, but he couldn't pinpoint it until he looked again and realized there was a cutout in her, too. The skin of her breasts was transparent, looking in on the implants that made her a double-D--and there was a flash of fins, a pair of flaring bettas swimming in either breast.

His eyes widened, he looked harder. Her shirt rode up a little as she swished by him and smiled; a mouse scampered between her pectoral muscles. He turned to watch her as she departed, noting that her shirt had no back and he could see straight through her ribcage to the finch that sang and fluttered around her heart.

Truly, there were stranger things in heaven and on Earth than he had ever dreamt of in his philosophy.

That got me thinking.

But less on animals inside of people (besides "wouldn't they get squished?" o_o) than on what that kind of thing would do to a society.

So, if everybody's pretty, that would encourage genetic diversity, right? 'Cause there are no more ugly people?
Or would another trait come into preference, like, say, intelligence? Or would everybody be engineered for intelligence, too?

Hmmm. Oh, that reminds me. I have an idea you might find interesting, and I could use a little help fleshing it out. Yeah.
