I'm going to toss out an idea I found very appealing that I don't want to lose, and keep it for later so I can expand on it, either in the OW stories or otherwise.

It came to me, while hunting down information on knives for use in making combat scenes with Abby in them more realistic (he strikes me as a knife-fighter--good reach, quick reflexes, and not bothered at all about getting down and dirty with someone he needs to dispose of), that I have this vivid mental image of him as ten or fifteen years older, teaching one of his kids how to fight the same way he learned.

I'm torn between this idea I have of him of being one of those unfortunate people who, either by their own designs, or just by the way life goes, ends up dead at a very young age--and him having kids. (Of course, the whole 'gay' thing somewhat forcludes that, though I know he desperately wants kids...and there are workarounds.) I rather like the second idea--I'd had a thought, before the whole Interpol Director General drama thing, that if Abby could get himself pardoned, and grow up and settle down a little, he'd make a very good senior advisor for someone like McLaren. This is sort of the same line of thought.

All quite interesting; and I need to go find more information on knife-fighting. [livejournal.com profile] sehkmet and I concocted a horrific scenario in which Abernathy and Mikage Yukiato (Kumicho of the Yakuza) get into a bare-fist fight, and maybe environmental weaponry. The entire thought included Abby severing the Kumicho's femoral artery with one of those nasty carving forks, and then torturing him to death with a spoon.

Though that's a little more darker and twisted than the M3 theme will allow, I think.

I've had a few more ideas floating around, too, and [livejournal.com profile] duskpaw suggested a real beaut. I'll think on 'em all.

Now to look up more on knife fighting and write up some attacks.

Umm, can't and probably won't ever happen. Other then me being completely uneasy about this scene and the result of it, it ICly can't happen. It is not in character for Mikage to get into a fight unless he has no other choice. He would much rather have other people fight for him. After all that /is/ their job, why should he get his hands dirty. Another thing is Kumicho is a hologram and definately not solid, so there will be no fighting with this character. As for Mikage, he is just a businessman. Why torture and kill a businessman? If he did challenge you it would be in the training room with Kendo sticks. And that is a huge /IF/ since he wouldn't bother challenging random people. But there is too many risks even in that in exposure. So doubtful it will ever happen. Oh well.

As I said, it's merely an idea--and probably too dark and gruesome for the M3 theme. Then again, given last night's activities with Xiang, my idea of what's 'too dark and gruesome' has been revised upward.

Besides, such a scenario would require:
1) Abernathy discovers who the Kumicho actually is. (A feat in and of itself.)
2) Abby manages to call Mikage out to something 'social' without actually revealing his knowledge.
and
3) Abby manages to provoke Mikage into attacking first.

3 might be debatable, as the situation allows. Even so, it's rather more of a long shot that you should concern yourself with.

Another thing that shouldn't be forgotten is the fact that you would need to get him away from his bodyguards. Another feat in itself. There is hardly ever a time that Mikage is seen without his bodyguards. He just can't risk the chance of being in a situation that he can't get out of. This doesn't mean he doesn't try to escape his guards. After all there is only so long you can go with someone breathing down your neck. Another thing that needs to be pointed out is the fact I Mikage arrives to the scene, finds out you know about him, he is not going to stay around any longer. Rather he will attempt to high tail outta that situation. You can insult him and taunt him all you like, however he could careless at the moment and will attempt any means of escaping. If you choose not to tell him that you know who he is, he would not fighting you anyways, even if you continue to insult him, because he wouldn't want to lose face and expose himself as a serious threat. Final thing when dealing with something this drastic is both sides have to have some type of agreement.

Hey, now. I know there are a great many difficulties and downright impossibilities to making the scene happen. I merely thought it might be an interesting 'what if' to play with, and just the idea is, to me, defining of Abernathy's character in dealing with his enemies.

Don't expend so much energy on trying to dissuade me from something I haven't even suggested on M3. :) It's just a fun, cinematic idea that sehkmet and I cooked up while bored. I doubt it's going to happen, primarily because of your objections, and the IC difficulty of pinning Mikage firmly to the Yakuza.

I do understand this, please do not get me wrong. If I sounded harsh, I apologize, that was not my intension. I was merely stating my thoughts on this and how I would take it, if it was ICly played out. Could it play out like that in the future? *twitch-twitch* Well, it is possible. Anything is possible, really. Maybe not to that extent, though. It is doubtful that me, or any Mikage after me will accept that. Something like that will have to be discussed with both players before hand. But then that is something you already know about. But for the most part, I know this is just a made up sceno, but something I thought I would put my own input in.
